JoAnn S. Hubbard, age 80 years, of rural Hillsboro, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015 at the UW Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

She was born on Nov. 8, 1934 to George and Charlotte “Lottie” (Kauss) Van Hecker in Taylor County, Wisconsin.  JoAnn graduated from the Kendall High School.

JoAnn married Donald Hubbard on Aug. 22, 1992 and they made their home near Hillsboro.

Throughout her life JoAnn was a devoted and dedicated to her work, which included farming, working at Ray-O-Vac, and operating CBRF facilities, for the Lutheran Home and Bethesda.  She was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Hubbard; children, Roger (Gail) Mieden of Reedsburg, Cheryl Larson of Plain, Jeff (Dawn) Mieden of West Allis and Todd (Kim) Mieden of Ithaca; many Grandchildren; many Great Grandchildren; sisters, Marie (Doug) Jacobson, Jean (Joe) McCracken, and Lois Reineke; brother, Ray Van Hecker; step children, Kathy (Scott) Weisman, Kay (Eugene) Wagner and Kris Blaha and two sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jerry and Art Van Hecker; sister-in-law, Colleen Van Hecker; brother-in-law, Everett Reineke; former husband, John Mieden and stepson, Kenneth Hubbard.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, with Rev. Conrad Prell officiating.  Burial was  in the Forest-Burr Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.  Friends called at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.
