John “Elton” Kies, 89, of Platteville, died on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at Epione Pavilion in Cuba City. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the First English Lutheran Church in Platteville. Rev. Michael Short officiated. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery in Platteville. Friends called from 4–8 p.m. on Friday at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home and Crematory in Platteville. They also called from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
