Karl B. Goebel, 80 of Browntown, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born May 31, 1932, in Darlington, the son of Edward and Geneva (Schwartz) Goebel, and attended Darlington area schools. Karl entered the United States Marines Corps Dec. 12, 1951, at Ft. Sheridan, Ill., served as a Corporal in Korea and was discharged on Dec. 4, 1953, at Cherry Point, N.C. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery in Monroe with Military Rites.
