Lois Mulcahy

Lois Jane (Linden) Mulcahy, age 80, of Green Bay formerly of Belmont and Cuba City, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Parkview Nursing Home in Green Bay. She was born June 18, 1935 in Big Patch, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Leila (Corlett) Linden. She attended school in Big Patch and Platteville, continuing on at UW-Platteville earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Lois taught in several school districts before she married Edward J. Mulcahy on August 17, 1964. She continued to teach after her marriage to Ed as well as helping on the Mulcahy family farm. Eventually, as the farm got bigger, Lois did substitute teaching from time to time, as well as working beside Ed on the farm.
Lois was active over the years in the Whirlybird Homemakers group, the Belmont Kitchen Band, and did extensive volunteer work at several area nursing homes. She was also an avid crafter, attending many local craft fairs and running a craft shop out of her home. After the death of her husband, Ed, she moved to the Green Bay area to be nearer to her family.
Lois is survived by one daughter: Patti of Greenleaf, Wis.; one granddaughter: Carson Gilson also of Greenleaf; one sister: Elaine (Dave) Pokrandt of Oshkosh; one brother-in-law: Cliff VanNatta of Platteville; three sisters-in-law: Rosemary Phillips of Oregon, Margaret Leffler of Dodgeville and Gladys Mulcahy of Plover; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ed; one brother: Cletus Linden; two sisters: Marian VanNatta and Carol Lund; five brothers-in-law: Bill Lund, Joseph Mulcahy, Leo Mulcahy, Joe Phillips, and Ray Leffler; and one sister-in-law: Mary Mulcahy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 14, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Truman with Rev. John Bosco Pudhota officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, April 14, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will take place in the Truman Cemetery at a later date. The Steil-Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
