Louis Michael (Mickey) Dorsey, Jr., 66, of Rockford, Ill., passed away Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.
Lou was born on June 17, 1951 in Shullsburg, the son of Louis and Dorothy (Lyne) Dorsey.
Lou graduated from Shullsburg High School in 1969. He worked at John S. Barnes/Heldex, now Concentric of Rockford, Ill., in the maintenance department for 33 years before retiring in 2007.
His special interests/hobbies included playing on his computer, woodworking, photography, spending time camping at Sugar Shores RV in Durand, Ill. and spending time with his family.
Lou married Kathryn Aschtgen on Aug. 7, 1976 in Darlington.
Lou is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathryn; daughters: Shannon (Troy) Peacock of Rockford, Ill., Tammy (James) Hansen of Belvidere, Ill., and Dana Dorsey of Rockford, Ill.; grandchildren: Jacob & Jared Hansen, Alexys & Davyd Loop, William & Rylan Peacock, and a special angel Raegan Peacock; brother, Curtis Dorsey of Wiota; sisters: Twyla Mick of Shullsburg & Kathyrn (Scott) Varner of Blanchardville; many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, June Aschtgen of Pearl City, Ill.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Dorothy Dorsey & father-in-law, William Aschtgen.
In keeping with Louis’ wishes, cremation rites were accorded.
There will be a celebration of life Saturday, March 24, 3018 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at The Fraternal Order of Eagles Club, 3829 11th St., Rockford, Ill., 61109.
