    Mary Ellen Reichling, age 77 of Darlington was taken by the good Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015. She was born May 28, 1938 the daughter of Joseph and Opal (Nelson) Reichling. After the death of her parents, Mary was able to stay in her home and was cared for by the Theresa and Lane Thompson family. In the early 1990’s and until 2012, Mary moved to her new home to live with her brother Richard and Patsy. In the fall of 2012, Mary moved to Pine Lawn House in Highland until recently moving to the Atrium Post Acute Care in Mineral Point.
    Mary enjoyed a good meal, socializing with family and friends and loved to watch the Green Bay Packers. But most of all, the Hodan Community Services added much joy to her life. Mary attended Hodan for over 40 years and was able to meet many kind and wonderful friends there. Mary was known for her beauty, greeting, and big smile. She had an excellent memory and never forgot a name or birthday. Mary was loved by many, especially by her father who never gave up on her ability.
    Mary is survived by her brother: David Reichling of Darlington; sister-in-law: Patsy Reichling of Darlington; brother-in-law: Ron Macias of Calif.; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Richard Reichling; one sister: Joan Macias; sisters-in-law: Donna Reichling and Joann Reichling; and one niece: Theresa Thompson.
    A Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church (104 E. Harriet Street, Darlington) with Rev. John Bosco Pudhota officiating. Burial was in Holy Rosary Cemetery. A visitation was held Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until the times of services at the church where a rosary was prayed at 12:45 p.m. The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.     For those who prefer, memorials may be given to the Hodan Center (941 Fountain Street, Mineral Point, WI 53565) in Mary’s name.
    The family would like to thank everyone at Pine Lawn, the Atrium Post Acute Care and Upland Hills Hospice for the awesome care they had given Mary, the Hodan Community Services for everything they did to give Mary a wonderful experience in life and most of all to Patsy for dedicating her life for the past 20+ years to giving Mary a life she loved.
