Michael R. Mulcahy, 88 of Darlington, died on Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at his home. He was born on Feb. 19, 1923, to Timothy and Sarah (McDonald) Mulcahy. He attended Georgetown District No. 2 School and graduated from Darlington High School in the Class of 1941. Mike served as a paratrooper in the United States Army during World War II in Okinawa and Japan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 104 E. Harriet St., Darlington, with Father Randy Budnar officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church where a Rosary will be prayed at 2:45 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9-10:15 a.m. prior to the funeral on Friday at the church.
