Neil Thomas “Hoddy” Jensen 76, of Baraboo, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born June 14, 1939, the son of Kenneth Owen and Marion Frances (Green) Jensen in Sparta, WI.

Neil was a graduate of Royall High School in Elroy, WI. Neil served his country in the Army National Guard in the 32nd Division. He worked many years as the head custodian for the Roseville School District in Minnesota, where he also earned an Honorary Degree of History. He was a great collector of more than 3500 books, having read several on European countries, wars, battlefields and the old west. He was especially interested in General Douglas MacArthur and old Western actors such as John Wayne, Joel McCrea and  Randolph Scott. He loved to take walks around Devils Lake, watch old movies and browse antique stores.  He enjoyed two trips to Great Britain and many trips within the States. He had a strong love of animals, especially his dogs and his pet sheep Bonnie.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Karen and twin sons Randolph and Scott.

He is survived by his daughter: Laurie (Kent) Ray of Hillsboro, WI.; brother: Denny (Nancy) Jensen of Mauston, WI;  brother-in-law: Gayland Snorek of Stoughton, WI; six grandsons: Cody, Cass, Chris & Cole Mortimer, Brandon & Dylan Ray. Also nieces and nephews Chris & Tim Brockman, Dan Jensen, Lynn Jensen, Jill Baker, and a special friend, Marge Pavelsek.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016 at Walnut Hill Bible Church, 1900 East St., Baraboo, WI, with Rev. David Hutchens officiating. Friends called from 4-7 p.m.  Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 at Thompson Funeral Home 402 Center St., Wonewoc, WI, and may call from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church on Wednesday.
