Noda Schwartz

Noda E. Schwartz, age 88 of Monroe, died Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on May 6, 1928 in Rockford, Ill., the daughter of Clarence and Nellie (Kammerude) Jacobson.  She graduated from Darlington High School in 1946. Noda married Alan J. Schwartz on August 21, 1950 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Yellowstone. Noda worked at St. Clare Hospital for many years, retiring in 1984. She also worked at Yodel Bakery. She was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church for 55 years, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and she enjoyed volunteering at St. Victor Catholic School.
She is survived by 10 children: Marie (Steven) Wilke of Glendale, Ellen (Rich Cowan) Schwartz of New Glarus, Marlene (Phil) Welton of Mountain, Wis., Claire (Barb Atkinson) Schwartz of Sykesville, Md., Alan Paul (Cheryl) Schwartz of Monroe, Theresa (Dean) Hodnett of St. Paul, Minn., Mark (Ann) Schwartz of Watertown, Stacie (Wally) Meyer of Madison, Neal (Cindy) Schwartz of Monroe, and Patricia (Ricky) Brinkmann of Winneconne; 9 grandsons; 9 granddaughters; 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Carroll (Mary) Jacobson and Oliver Jacobson both of Darlington. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alan, grandson, Seth Welton, brothers: Howard Jacobson and Leland Kammerude; sisters: Elizabeth Grob and Marjorie Olson.
A Mass of Christian Burial was at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Monsignor Larry Bakke presiding. Burial was in Calvary cemetery. A visitation was held Sunday, June 12, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home. Memorials may be given in Noda’s name to either, Badger Honor Flight or St. Victor’s Catholic Church.
