Orlo A. Durkee, age 90 years, of Hillsboro, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 at Gundersen St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hillsboro, Wisconsin.

He was born on Sept. 10, 1923 to Raymond and Myrtle (Straight) Durkee in the Town of Hillsboro.  Orlo was united in marriage to Flossie McBain on July 18, 1942.  They farmed in the Mount Tabor area for many years and following retirement moved into Hillsboro.  She preceded him in death on Sept. 7, 2000.

Orlo enjoyed fishing and shooting pool, he also enjoyed his friendships at the meal site and in Hills Manor, where he lived.  They often played cards and dominoes, which he also enjoyed.  He was a member of the Hillsboro Historical Society.

Survivors include Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; two Sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews and cousins with whom he was very close; with a special thanks to Wayne Downing.  In addition to his wife, Flossie; he was preceded in death by his son, Rodney; sister, Evelyn Hardy; and brothers, Kenneth, Clarence, Lyle and Arnold.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, with Rev. Conrad Prell officiating.  Burial will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Church on Thursday from 11 to 1 p.m.  The Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro assisted the family, for online information go to www.pichafuneralhomes.com
