PatriciaPrine

Patricia Ann Prine, age 78, of Dubuque, Iowa was called home peacefully at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at home, surrounded by her loving family. To honor Patricia’s life, funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Holy Spirit Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 2215 Windsor Avenue, with Rev. Dwayne J. Thoman officiating. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, is in charge of arrangements.
Patricia was born on April 2, 1937 in Darlington daughter of Irving “Pat” and Julia (Kendall) Nevels.
Patricia was fortunate to find the love of her life, Robert L. Prine, early in life and they would be united in marriage on May 7, 1955. They would eventually move to Dubuque to raise their five boys and be blessed with the opportunity to spend 60 wonderful years together. Patricia would devote over 15 years of her life to foster parenting and humbly accepted her ability to directly change the life of a child one day at a time. Patricia richly impacted many lives during her 78 years here with us and her primary driving forces of faith and family have been clearly instilled within those she loved for generations to come.
Those left to cherish Patricia’s memory include her husband, Robert Prine, Dubuque; her children, Robert (Lucinda Kruser) Prine, Kieler, Wis., Donald (Nancy) Prine, David (Laurie) Prine, Dwaine Prine and Jim (Tarry) Prine, all of Dubuque; her sister, Pauline (Clinton) Halverson, Darlington; her 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and her numerous nieces and nephews.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her dear friends and husband Robert’s parents, Howard (Myrtle) Prine; her sister, Lu (Loren) Elmer; her sisters-in-law, Jill (Lyle) Schwartz, Rosemary (Paul) Prine, Becky (Toby) Prine and Juanita (Phillip) Prine; her brothers-in-law, Merlin (Isetta) Prine, Phillip (Juanita) Prine, Toby (Becky) Prine, Jerry (Bev) Prine and Dwaine (Bess) Johnson.
A Patricia A. Prine memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque, especially Betsy, and her granddaughter, Nicole, for all their loving and compassionate care and support.
