Patricia S. “Patty” Linden, age 59 of South Wayne, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Dec. 26, 2016 at The Monroe Clinic Hospital in Monroe. She was born July 27, 1957 in Manchester, Iowa the daughter of Kenneth and Betty (Kneisel) Adams. Patty graduated from Fennimore High School in 1976. She was united in marriage to Joseph H. Linden on Oct. 23, 1976 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fennimore. Patty grew up in Fennimore. She waitressed in Shullsburg and Monroe before becoming a licensed in-home daycare provider for many years. She then currently worked as a teacher’s aide for Black Hawk School District while spending her summers working as a special needs caregiver. Patty also spent time as a sales representative for both Home Interiors and Avon.
Patty is survived by her husband: Joe; her mother: Betty Adams of Fennimore; two sons: Eric Linden of Lincoln, Neb. and Andrew Linden of South Wayne; and three sisters: Janette (Andy) Kumar of Greenfield, Laura (Chris) Burkley of Ogdensburg, and Cathy Smith of Fennimore. She was preceded in death by her father; and one son: Jason Lee Linden in infancy.
Patty was a member of First Baptist Church in Darlington and its worship team. Patty was known for her beautiful singing voice and expressed it through her being active in Monroe Theater Guild and the Bel Canto Singers both of Monroe. She cherished the time she spent with family creating memories that will stay with them forever. Patty will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church (15961 Cty Rd K, Darlington) with Rev. Nick J. McElrath officiating. A visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 30, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Patty’s name.
