Paul D. “Joe” Martens, 73, Waupaca, formerly of Platteville, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 4 after a long courageous battle with pancreatic/liver cancer. He died at home comforted and surrounded by his loving family.

Celebration of Life was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9 at the Melby Funeral Home and Crematory in Platteville.  Stephanie Seefeldt officiated. Burial was at Hillside Cemetery in Platteville. Visitation was from 4–8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8 at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday. Since the family lives out of town, in lieu of plants and flowers, memorials may be made to the Paul D. “Joe” Martens Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.melbyfh.com.
