    Paul H. Mau, age 74 of Gratiot passed away at his home, Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015 surrounded by those who loved him most. He was born June 30, 1941 in Lafayette County the son of LaVerne and Leona (Upmann) Mau. Paul graduated from South Wayne High School in 1959. He was united in marriage to Joyce E. Drye on Oct. 29, 1960 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gratiot.  Paul worked for five years at Southwest Feed Mill and later worked for Kelly Springfield for 31 years. He was the proud owner of PJ’s Bar in Gratiot for seven years.
    Paul is survived by his wife Joyce at home; two sons: Randy Mau of Gratiot and Jerry (Tina) Mau of Browntown; two granddaughters: Megan (Andy) Thoman and Carrie (fiancé Brandon Mortimer) Mau; one great-granddaughter: Ella Mau; five brothers: George (Deb) Mau of Monroe, James Mau, John (Bonnie) Mau, Steve (Cindy) Mau all of South Wayne and Mike (Debbie) Mau of Argyle; and three sisters: Rose Rundle, Margie (Dennis) Goldenman, and Margaret (LaVerne) Gordee all of Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Ralph (Sandra) Mau, sister: Mary Herfel; brother-in-law: Dave Rundle; and two nephews: Jaime and Marvin Mau.
    Paul was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gratiot. He was a proud member of the Gratiot Conservation Club, Wisconsin Conservation Congress, Conservation Alliance, Gratiot Village Board of Trustees for 20 years, was treasurer of Pecatonica River Enchantment Council, was on the Board of Directors of Tavern League, and was a member of the South Wayne Fire Department for several years. Paul was an avid Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed watching the games with his family. He loved spending time with his granddaughters, hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, and playing euchre with his family and friends. He liked to escape the cold Wisconsin winter months by traveling to Texas. Paul will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
    A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Dec. 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Gratiot with Rev. Joji Reddy officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. A visitation was held Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and at the church and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The Steil-Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family.
