Randy C. Spurgeon, 55, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2015.

Randy was born Jan. 16, 1960 in Hillsboro the son of John Burk Sr. and Linda M. (Winchel) Spurgeon.  In 1987, he married Darlene Grace Melvin.

Always a hard worker, Randy was employed By NUK (formerly Gerber) for 25 years as a material handler.  As a mechanic, Randy enjoyed working on his 69 Mustang Mach 1, and was always there to help others with their cars.  As a dedicated family man, his family always came first.  They all knew he would do anything for anyone.  He enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, and an occasional mushroom hunt.

Survivors include his wife Darlene; his daughters, Janet Melvin, Jennifer (Craig) Harris, and Kelly (J.J.) Coyle; his grandchildren:  Kayla, Darren, Austen, Caden, Aliah, Carsen, Parker, Graceann and Hunter; his mother, Linda;
his brothers and sisters, Doyle (Imelda) Spurgeon, Vicki Mortimer, Linda “Kathy” (Randy) Tyler, Vonda (Roger) Hainstock, John Spurgeon, Kerry (Anne) Spurgeon, and Toni Spurgeon (fiancé  Allen Nachreiner); sister-in-law, Kathryn Spurgeon; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Grace Winchel; father, John Sr.; step-father, Leland Lewis; brother, Charles “Buster”;  father and mother-in law, Ben (Janet) Melvin; and brothers-in-law, Richard Mortimer and Michael Summy.

Funeral Services for Randy Spurgeon will take place Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at 11 a.m, at Valton Friends Church, S1939 Landsinger Rd., Wonewoc, WI 53968.  Pastor Stan Bauer will officiate.  Visitation will be on Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, from 6-8 p.m., at the Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg, and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
