Richard J. Peckham, 72, of Spring Green, died Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Greenway Manor in Spring Green.

He was born July 15, 1941 the son of James and Katheryn (Gher) Peckham.  Dick went to Syresville School in Woodstock.  In 1952 the family moved to Melancthon Creek where he attended Wood School.  In 1955 the family moved to Hillsboro where Dick graduated from high school in 1960.   In 1960 Dick dated Marion Mayfield and the couple reunited in 1985 and have been together ever since.   He and his brother Curt bought a farm together in Soules Creek and after Curt’s passing in 1992 he sold the farm and moved to Hillsboro until 2004 when he moved to Spring Green.  Dick worked for Sheafor’s, Higgins Transportation, Erickson Transport, and Warren Grain Company.  He later went to work for Terra Construction where he stayed for 38 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union and Operating Engineers Local 139.  Dick enjoyed hunting whitetails and spending time visiting with people.

Dick is survived by his loving partner, Marion Sailing of Spring Green; her son: Brad (Tami) Sailing of Madison; grandchildren: Brynn and Brady; aunts: Marcia Ward of Green Bay, Betty Peckham of Richland Center; cousins, other relatives and friends.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents James and Katheryn Peckham and brother Curt.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Pratt Memorial Chapel in Richland Center with burial to follow in the Woodstock Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m.  The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.  Online condolences can be made at prattfuneralservice.com.
