Robert B. Cheever, 97, Elkhorn WI, formerly of rural Bell Center, WI and Des Plaines, IL, died on Friday, April 9, 2021 of congestive heart failure.

He was born in Chicago on April 5, 1924 to Fred B. and Augusta L. Cheever (Lemke). He was married to Sylvia E. Cheever (Lucey) until her death on February 4, 2005.  He was discharged from Navy in 1953 as an Ensign, having flown TBF torpedo planes, enrolled and graduated from IIT of Chicago with a degree in Civil Engineering/Structural License and worked in Chicago until his retirement in 1987.

Survivors include his son, Matthew of LaValle, WI, his daughter, Annette of Elkhorn; four grandchildren, Colin and Hillary Cheever and Patrick and Timothy Biggin; four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

According to his wishes, he will be cremated with burial on July 13th, his Dad’s birthday. He was a child of the Depression, which caused him to live frugally so his family did not want.  May he be happy at rest.
