Ronald L. “Ron” Hying, 71, Platteville, died on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 21 at his home, with the love and support of his family by his side, after an amazingly courageous battle with brain cancer.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 26 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Chapel military rites were accorded by American Legion Post #42 and VFW Post #5275. Father Faustino Ruiz officiated. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Platteville. Visitation was from 2–5 p.m. on Sunday at the Melby Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville. There was a rosary at 1:45 p.m. Friends also called from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church.
