Rose Elaine Sherman, age 79 years, of Hillsboro, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wis.

She was born on Mar. 18, 1934 to Jesse and Rose V. (Slama) Sherman in LaCrosse, Wis.  Rose grew to adulthood in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1952.

Rose Elaine later graduated from Viterbo University in 1956 with a degree in music education and taught music in various elementary schools for a number of years.  She also played organ at St. Aloysius Catholic Church and other churches for many years.

Survivors include a brother, James (Barbara) Sherman of Tucson, Arizona, three nieces and many cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two infant sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hillsboro, with Father Don Bauer officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery at Mount Tabor.  Friends may call at the Church on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m.  The Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro assisted the family, for online information go to www.pichafuneralhomes.com
