Roy Emerson Smith, 85, of Platteville, died on Wednesday, Jan. 18, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. A celebration of Roy’s life was held from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Jan. 21 at the  Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory in Platteville. There was a time of eulogy and reflection at 11:45 a.m. and lunch followed at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Roy E. Smith Memorial Fund.
