Steven D. Stanton, 59, of Benton, died after a courageous battle with lung cancer, on Friday, Oct. 19 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa.  Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the Melby–Bendorf Funeral Home and Crematory in Platteville. Rev. Brenda Whitford officiated. Burial was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cuba City.  Friends  visited from 3–7 p.m. on Monday at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home and Crematory and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.
