Terry R. Buss, age 72 of rural Mineral Point, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Lafayette Manor in Darlington. He was born Oct. 17, 1945 in Platteville, the son of Robert and Melva (Rice) Buss. Terry graduated from Belmont High School in 1963 and later completed the UW Agriculture short course. He was united in marriage to Judith A. Leuthold on June 29, 1968 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Darlington. Terry grew up in Kendall Township in Lafayette County. He joined the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Belvoir, Va. until he was honorably discharged in 1968. He returned home and worked on the family farm for 31 years before working for Shakeproof in Darlington. Terry also worked seasonally for Trelay Seed Company and owned and operated Buss Harness Shop for 26 years.
Terry is survived by his wife Judy at home; one son: William (Jen Holtz) Buss of rural Mineral Point; one granddaughter: Storm Marshall-Buss; one brother: Gary (Shirley) Buss of Waunakee; and one sister: Connie Donahoe of rural Belmont. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and one brother-in-law Jim Donahoe
Terry was a member of Belmont Saddle Club, Southwest Wisconsin Draft Horse & Driving Club, State DHIA (Dairy Herd Improvement Association) and was a past member of Hinkins-Moody American Legion Post #453 of Belmont. He enjoyed camping and trail riding with Judy and their Mules at Wildcat Mountain State Park.
A gathering and Celebration of Terry’s Life will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Sports Page in Belmont.  The Erickson Funeral Home in Darlington is serving the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ericksonfuneralhome.com.
