Treva W. (Taylor) Matteson, age 88 years, of Hillsboro, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at Milestone Senior Living in Hillsboro, WI.

She was born on March 6, 1925 near Valley, Wl to Milo and Leah (Krauss) Taylor. Treva was united in marriage to Verlin W. Matteson on Dec. 22, 1942 at Burr Ridge, Wl.

Treva and Verlin farmed in the Trippville area. They then operated the Wander Inn Restaurant in Hillsboro. She also worked at the St. Joseph’s Hospital. In retirement she volunteered for the Good Samaritan Thrift Store. Over the years she made many quilts that she lovingly gave to friends and family. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Hillsboro and the Trippville Homemakers. Treva also faithfully kept the family history up to date.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Verlin; children, Howard (Carol) Matteson of Wonewoc, Alan (Sandi) Hillsboro, Larry (Jenny) Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Brent Matteson, Doug Matteson, Ryan (Sarah) Matteson, Aaron Matteson, Justin (Miranda) Satterlee, Joshua (Laura) Satterlee, Jamie Satterlee, Beth Matteson (friend Kevin), Candi (Adam) Kennedy; great grandchildren, Jayden, William, Mason, Brody, Adalynn, Karter and Kamden; three brothers, Mervin (Fodie) Taylor of Ontario, Ralph (Pat) Taylor of Warrenville, IL and Lee (Mary) Taylor of Janesville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son Carl Matteson; daughter, Anita Satterlee; sister, Rita Taylor and brother, Holly Taylor.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, with Rev. Isaac Fleming officiating.  Burial was in the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Hillsboro.  Friends called at the Picha Funeral Home in Hillsboro on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the Church on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.
