William C. “Edgar” Davis, 65, Platteville, died on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at the VA Hospital’s Community Living Center Hospice Unit in Madison, from throat cancer after 18 years of remission.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March, 29 at the Lutheran Church of Peace in Platteville. Pastor Jeffrey Pedersen officiated. Burial was at Lima Union Cemetery, where military rites were accorded by American Legion Post 42 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5274. Visitation was  from 4–8 p.m. on Friday, March 28 at Melby Funeral Home and Crematory in Platteville and also after 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
