William L. Nethery, 79 of Shullsburg passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque. Funeral services were at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Centenary United Methodist Church, Shullsburg. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Shullsburg. He was born Dec. 24, 1936 in Shullsburg the son of Vern and Margaret (Newman) Nethery. Bill graduated from Darlington High School with the class of 1955. He was united in marriage to Marvelle Smeathers and from that union they had six children. She preceded him in death. Bill farmed the majority of his life, while owning and operating the Triple T, the Triple T Two and the Red Cedar Inn. He enjoyed, flying airplanes, live music, combining, traveling, playing pool and a good game of euchre. Bill loved the time spent with his many customers and shooting the breeze over a good cup of coffee at the local restaurant. He is survived by his children, Steve (Lori) Nethery of Shullsburg, Tina (Danny) Ubersox of Shullsburg, Terri (Scott Towne) Nethery of Oconomowoc and Tammy (Bob) Curran of Shullsburg, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, his companion of thirty-years, LaVonne Berge of Shullsburg, one sister, Betty (Dick) Collins of Brodhead, a sister in-law, Shirley Nethery of Darlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, David and Billie Jo, two brothers, Tim and Edward, two sisters, Winnefred Nethery and Ella Russell, a brother in-law, Kenneth Russell.
