The next big decision that needs to be made by Hillsboro area citizens is just around the corner.

The Hillsboro School District is in the process of seeking a referendum that will play a major role in the next election.

The School Board will meet on a retreat Wednesday night to discuss the financial needs of the district and the possibility of taking the problem to the voters by way of referendum.

Local media reporters have been invited to a conference with School Administrators Thursday morning for an update on plans to alleviate a financial crunch that would assure the continuation of the many fine programs offered to students in the Hillsboro School District.

The next regular meeting of the Hillsboro School Board on Monday, June 9th, will be quite important for those interested in retaining Hillsboro’s fine reputation in delivering a quality education to area students.

There are many ways to support the Hillsboro School District, and one of them is coming up on Saturday, June 7 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tiger Pride, consisting of a group of parents and other local folks who are supporting the increasing spirit and development of our students, will be holding a Garage Sale in the St. Joseph’s Outreach Building at 826 Prairie Avenue.

There will be lots of items to choose from and good will donations will also be appreciated.

This is the time of year for special sales and this one will help all our Hillsboro students.

Some senior moments:

•  A lady very carefully confided to a friend that she was having an affair. Another lady sitting next to them leaned over and asked, “Are you having it catered?”

And that is a very excellent definition of old!

•  Know how to stop sagging?  Just eat till the wrinkles fill out!

• Always remember this. You don’t stop laughing because  you grow old. You grow old because you stop laughing!

A final thought for the day:

I don’t want to brag or make anyone jealous, or anything. but I can still fit into the earrings I wore in high school!
