Instead of criticizing, run

Al Probst’s letter implying that some members of the Platteville Common Council could/should be recalled got me wondering where he and others talking recall were during the April election? They missed the opportunity to present their agenda to the citizens of Platteville. Neither he nor any of his like-minded friends had the courage to run for political office.

It’s easy to sit back and be an armchair quarterback by criticizing the hard work and efforts of Common Council members who are trying to do the right thing for the taxpayers of Platteville. If Al or any other like-minded individuals are really concerned about how the council conducts the city’s business, maybe it’s time to put up or shut up. If they really think the citizens of Platteville support their ideas, then they should have put forth their agenda and run for office. The election is over.
