The Republican Party of Crawford County will be hosting a membership drive at The Barn restaurant on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. It will be followed by the monthly meeting of the party. Hors d’oevres will be served. The no cost event is open to current members and to all individuals that would like to join the local Republican Party. The 2012 membership dues are $10 per person. Membership dues must be paid by January 20 in order to vote on issues at the county caucus scheduled for February 4, 2012.
Elected Republican officials and candidates have been invited to this event. Republican candidates for the U.S. Senate have indicated that they or a representative from their campaign may be present. Party Chairman, Dave Wesener, stated that with the strong conservative candidates running to take the open Senate seat, Wisconsin may very well be the state that brings a Republican majority to the U.S. Senate in 2012.
A representative from Governor Walker’s recall committee may also be present. Members will be reminded of the positive results seen in Wisconsin during 2011 that have often been overlooked and that current opinion polls show the recall effort is unwanted by the majority of Wisconsin voters. Yard signs and bumper stickers from Governor Walker’s campaign committee will be available at the event.
Party Chairman Wesener urges current party members to use this occasion to invite their conservative friends to attend. He also encourages individuals interested in getting involved at the local level to come join the party! If you cannot attend but would like to join the party and pay your dues you can mail them to the Republican Party of Crawford County, P.O. Box 344, Prairie du Chien, WI 53821. Please include your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address. If you have any questions contact Dave Wesener at 715-459-6204.
