GAME OF THE WEEK (March 31–April 5)
INDOOR TRACK & FIELD: UW–Platteville Indoor Invitational, Thursday, March 31, 5 p.m.
Mother Nature isn’t completely cooperating with the spring sports schedule just yet, but the preseason indoor track and field season continues Thursday with the UW–Platteville Indoor Invitational at Williams Fieldhouse. Lancaster, Albany, Belmont, Benton/Scales Mound/Shullsburg, Boscobel, Cambridge, Cassville, Deerfield, Dodgeville, Monticello, Pecatonica, River Ridge, Southwestern, Riverdale, Westby and Wisconsin Heights are all scheduled to participate. Lancaster will host the meet.
Benton Indoor Invitational (at UW–Platteville), Saturday, April 2, 10 a.m.
Defending Six Rivers Champion Benton/Scales Mound/Shullsburg will host the Benton Indoor Invitational Saturday at UW–Platteville’s Williams Fieldhouse. Participating teams include: Benton/Scales Mound/Shullsburg, Belmont, Black Hakw, Cuba City, Darlington, Dodgeville, Fennimore, Lancaster, Pecatonica, Platteville, Oregon and Southwestern.
OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD:
Cuba City outdoor meet, Tuesday, April 5, 4 p.m.
Cuba City will a four-team meet with Black Hawk, Cassville, and Benton/Scales Mound/Shullsburg to open the outdoor season.
River Ridge outdoor meet, Tuesday, April 5, 4 p.m.
River Ridge will a five-team meet with Belmont, Platteville, Potosi and Southwestern to open the outdoor season.
BASEBALL: Season Openers
Weather permitting, most local baseball team will open the season on Friday. Area games include:
