The Hillsboro girls’ basketball team’s Scenic Bluffs Conference showdown with co-league-leading Bangor (2–2, 2–0 SBC) Friday was postponed due to last week’s ice storm and will be made up at a later date.

The Lady Tigers are off to a perfect 6–0 start, including a 2–0 mark in league play, under coach Ron Benish.

Hillsboro defeated Kickapoo on Monday, Dec. 16 30–25 in a non-conference game to improved to 6–0. Benish’s girls improved to 2–0 in the SBC with a 42–13 rout of Necedah on Dec. 12.

The Tigers are averaging just 31.7 points per game as a team, but winning with their stellar defense holding opponents to an average of 23.3 points per game.

The Hillsboro squad will return to action Monday with a non-conference game at Seneca (4–1), the current leader of the Ridge and Valley conference.
