Number two in the conference, the Seneca Indians girls basketball team added a couple more notches to their victory belt in the past week. Strong showings against Cassville and LaFarge kept the Indians in the hunt for the conference championship and post-season possibilities.

In conference action, Seneca faced the LaFarge Wildcats on Tuesday, Jan. 15. The sixth placed Wildcats fell hard, losing 55-12.

The Indians then faced the Cassville Comets in non-conference action at home on Monday, Jan. 21. The Indians easily trounced the Comets, the last-placed team in the Six Rivers-Western Conference, with a score of 49-29.

The next conference game for the Indians will be tonight, Thursday, Jan. 24 at home against Kickapoo (1-7).

Next Tuesday, Jan. 29, the Indians face the undefeated Ithaca Bulldogs, the only team that they have lost to this year. The game, to be played in Ithaca, promises to be an exciting grudge match for the Indians.
