Seneca’s Eric Konichek went 2-4 at the plate, but the Indians fell 12-3 to LaFarge last Friday.
Indian pitcher Nick Payne handled LaFarge's lineup with ease, racking up five strikeouts. Nick allowed three earned runs, five hits and two walks over three-and-a-third innings.
LaFarge’s Tanner Heisel got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed three runs over seven innings. He struck out 12, walked six and surrendered six hits.
Brady Fernette took the loss for the Indians. He allowed eight runs in three-and-two thirds innings, walked six and struck out two.
The game was never in doubt after the first, as LaFarge scored two runs on an RBI single by Keith Burroken.
La Farge matched its three-run fourth inning with three more in the seventh. In the fourth, LaFarge scored on an RBI double by Mark Bekkum, plating Tanner.
One run in the bottom of the sixth inning helped the Indians close their deficit to 9-1. An error gave the Indians life. LaFarge stopped the rally after Tanner got Tommy Johnson to fly out.
After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the seventh, the Indians faced just a 12-3 deficit. An RBI single by Eric and a groundout by Gavin Greene fueled the Indians' comeback. Finally, Tanner got Nick to strike out to end the game.
