The North Crawford Track boys team competed in a small conference meet recently at Kickapoo High School. Kickapoo/ LaFarge won the meet with 178.50 points followed by Ithaca with 147. Next was Wauzeka-Stueben with 78, North Crawford 75.50, DeSoto 24 and Seneca with 26.
Looking strong for North Crawford was senior Mark Meyer. Meyer won the pole vault with a new school record leap of 12’6”. A second-year athlete, Meyer is looking very strong in that event. He also went on to finish in fifth place in the high jump with a very good leap of 5’8”. The high jump is a very tough event for the conference this year. Teammate sophomore Cody Hershberger also jumped 5’8” and finished in third place.

“We did not put our strongest team out there today,” coach Mike Allbaugh said following the meet. “We are plagued with injury and are trying to get healthy. The team is working very hard and we want to be 100 percent ready for the tournament. Meyer looked very strong today and is now ranked eighth in Division 3 in the state. I look for him to continue to get stronger.”
