Black Hawk comes up short against Argyle
BHBBB83
BLACK HAWK first baseman Jayden Stietz (#3) avoided a collision with teammate Brandon Schiferl to secure a fly ball out during Mondays game against Pecatonica.

SOUTH WAYNE – Avery Baumgartner and Brody Milz drove in two runs apiece and Rece Shelton scored three times for Black Hawk, but the host Warriors came up just a bit short as they fell 6-4 to Argyle in a Six Rivers East baseball game at BHHS on Tuesday, April 24.
Baumgartner gave the Warriors (0-7 overall, 0-4 SRC) an early lead with his two-run double in the first inning.
After the Orioles grabbed a 3-2 lead in the top of the third inning, Milz doubled home Shelton to tie the score at 3-3. However, Argyle’s Clay Ritschard gave his team the lead right back with a two-run double in the top of the fourth inning.
Brent Ritschard tacked on an insurance run for Black Hawk graduate Jeff Solberg’s Orioles in the fifth inning.
Milz singled home Shelton in the bottom of the fifth to cut the deficit back to 6-4, but C. Ritschard shut down the comeback by getting out of the jam in the fifth and then retiring the final six batters he faced to notch the save.
Milz finished 2-for-3 at the plate for the Warriors. B. Ritschard and B.J. Penniston each had two hits for Argyle.
At South Wayne, on Monday, April 30, the visiting Pecatonica Vikings routed the Warriors, 19-0, in a SRE affair.
The Warriors have a Six Rivers crossover doubleheader against River Ridge in Patch Grove on Friday, May 4, starting at 3:30 p.m., and a SRE game against Monticello/Albany in Monticello on Tuesday, May 8, starting at 5 p.m.
