Potosi senior Brent Curtis steam rolled the Highland defense to the tune of 164 yards and four touchdowns in Fridays 4921 Homecoming victory.

The strength and effectiveness of Potosi’s front line wasn’t lost on visiting Highland last Friday night, as the host Chieftains celebrated Homecoming in style with a 49–21 victory.

Potosi (6–1, 5–1 SRC) rushed for 448 yards on 44 rushing attempts and scored seven rushing touchdowns in Friday’s lopsided contest.

Teagan Friederick led the way with 176 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries, while Curtis had an equally impressive game, rushing for 164 yards and four touchdowns on 15 carries.

The rushing success was due to the blocking up front of senior center Karsyn Bartell, sophomore guard Tanner Collins, senior guard Alec Ganarajah, junior tackle Jake Langkmap, senior tackle Bryce McMahon and junior tight end Jacob Udelhoven.

Nathan Friederick finished the night rushing for 65 yards on 10 carries, as the trio accounted for 405 rushing yards on 39 attempts, and average well over 10 yards per attempt.

With such a high-powered rushing attack, there wasn’t much need to take to the air, though senior quarterback Kyle Kaiser completed 10-of-16 passing attempts for 127 yards. He connected with fellow senior Riley Hawes six times for 63 yards.

Highland concluded the game with just 105 yards rushing and one TD on 37 attempts, while completing 5-of-10 passing attempts for 57 yards, one interception.

With the win, Potosi improved to 5–1 in league play and remains in a three-way tie for first place along with Belmont (6–1, 5–1) and Pecatonica/Argyle (6–1, 5–1), the Chieftains’ next two opponents.

This Saturday afternoon the Chieftains will travel to Argyle for a 2
