DARLINGTON – Junior Naomi Black took care of medalist honors with a round of 45 and her Darlington/Cuba City co-op girls’ golf team took care of business by rolling over Southwestern and Prairie du Chien in a SWAL/SWC three-team dual meet held at the Darlington Country Club on Monday, Sept. 12.
    The Redbirds (22-7 overall) improved their dual meet record to 10-0 on the season after winning the triangular with a team score of 202. Southwestern finished second with a round of 228, while Prairie du Chien came into the clubhouse in third with a 262.
    Black carded three pars on the way to a 10-over 45 on the home course. She finished six strokes ahead of teammate Shelby Poss, who was runner-up on the day with a 51.
    Nikki Zimmerman added a 52 and Kayla Paquette a 54 to complete the team scoring for the Redbirds.
    At Lancaster, on Thursday, Sept. 8, Naomi Black earned medalist honors with a 48 and Darlington/Cuba City girls’ golf team cruised to a first-place finish first 54 strokes in a SWAL/SWC three-team meet held at the Lancaster Country Club.
    Lancaster’s Ashley Adams placed second overall with a 49. Darlington/Cuba City’s Shelby Poss (50), Kayla Paquette (52) and Nikki Zimmerman (53) rounded out the top five golfers at the meet.
    The Redbirds will participate at the Southwestern at the Galena Country Club on Monday, Sept. 19, starting at 3:30 p.m. The ‘Birds will head to Prairie du Chien for the 2011 SWAL-SWC Meet on Wednesday, Sept. 21, starting at 10 a.m.
