BOSCOBEL - It was a rough game for the Boscobel boys’ basketball team Tuesday, Dec, 7 as they hosted Richland Center.

“We let Richland Center have their way with us by letting them get to the rim and shoot uncontested three-pointers all night long,” said Coach Levi Esters. “They played faster than us all night.”

Despite Richland Center getting the jump at the start, the Bulldogs played with energy and were only outrebounded by one, the coach noted. They also held down turnovers to 19, with only four occurring in the second half.

Scoring was strong in the two-point zone, though three-pointers were lacking with only four of 34 attempts reaching their mark.

The screen defense still struggled to stop the Hornets, who won the game 93-71 over Boscobel.

Scoring: Dallas Marks, 32; Justin Miller, 18; Andrew Knowles, 7; Kolten Wallin, 5; Alex Russell, 4; Dawson Marks, 2; Trevor Martin, 2; and Erik Ward, 1.

Rebounding: Dallas Marks, 8; Trevor Martin, 8; Erik Ward, 5; Dawson Marks, 4; Justin Miller, 3; Andrew Knowles, 3; Kolten Wallin, 2; Alex Russell, 2; Mike Nguyen, 2; and Jordan Molzof, 1

Vs. Mineral Point

It was a hard fought boys’ basketball game Friday night as the Bulldogs hosted conference rival Mineral Point. Despite taking the loss, 42-68, the game offered up some positives for Boscobel as they seek to turn things around and begin winning games.

While the Bulldogs are still struggling to stop the ball from reaching the other team’s hands, they were doing a better job on preventing turnovers and on giving the Pointers a second chance at scoring when they missed a shot.

The Bulldogs were 13 for 39 on two-point shots and 5 for 21 on three-point shots.

“I was proud of the boys with the hustle and energy we had all night,” says Coach Esters. “We out rebounded Mineral Point and only had 13 turnovers, which is outstanding as a team. We lacked scoring at times throughout the game, which should get better as the season goes on!”

Scoring: Dallas Marks, 21; Justin Miller, 9; Andrew Knowles, 6; Kolten Wallin 3; and Alex Russell, 3.

Rebounding:
Justin Miller, 8; Andrew Knowles, 7; Dallas Marks, 4; Trevor Martin, 4; Tanner Bassett, 3; Jordan Molzof, 2; and Alex Russell, 2.
