The Boscobel Bulldogs traveled to Fennimore to face the Golden Eagles in the opening game of the season last Thursday.

The Bulldogs put on a fierce fight, ending the first half ahead of the Golden Eagles by a single point, 25-24. Fennimore turned the action around to outscore Boscobel by eight points to win, 57-50.

“We were the stronger team, but we ended up with a lot of missed shots,” said head coach Levi Esters. “We had good defensive play, out-rebounding Fennimore 32-16.”

The team will need to work on making those field shots, having scored on only 22-percent of the shots made in the game, the coach noted.

Leading in scoring for the Bulldogs was Ryan Latham with 16 points, followed by Tommy Monroe with 10, Dallas Marks with nine, and Treston Davidson with six.

Latham led in rebounds with eight, followed by Davidson with 7.

Jordon Molzoff provided the team with three steals.

The Bulldogs play next on Friday evening, traveling to Mineral Point for conference play. They will travel again four days later to face Wauzeka-Steuben on Monday evening in a nonconference game.
