LIVINGSTON — Three members of the Fennimore cross country team earned all-conference honors at last Thursday’s Southwest Wisconsin Activities League conference meet at Iowa–Grant High School.

Freshman Lauryn Bunn and junior Renee Schlaugat finished among the top-15 in the girls’ varsity race to lead the shorthanded Fennimore girls to a fourth-place team finish with 95 points.

Bunn placed fifth in her first conference meet with a time of 21:34.3, while Schlaugat finished 13th at 22:37.7, to lead  the Fennimore girls, who were without junior Ellie McCollough.

On the boys’ side, sophomore Ian Barry returned to the lineup after missing Fennimore’s previous two races and finished sixth at 17:44.4 to earn all-conference honors for the second straight year.

Fennimore will host Saturday’s 20-team WIAA Division 3 Fennimore Sectional. The girls’ race will start at 11 a.m. followed by the boys at noon.

The top two teams and the top five individuals not on a qualifying team advance to the WIAA State Championships in Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday, Oct. 28.
