Kauffman, Haines take firsts at Sparky Reynolds Invite

BOSCOBEL - Boscobel hosted the 20-team Spark Reynolds Invitation last Friday, May 13. The boys’ team took fourth place and the girls’ team tied for ninth place with Richland Center.

Boy’s track and field

A sole first place was earned by the Bulldogs, going to Dakota Kauffman in the 1,600-meter run. Kauffman also set a new meet record for the event with a time of 4:20.79.

Second place finishes were provided by Brandon Mindham in the 200-meter dash; Dakota Kauffman in the 800-meter run; the team of Brandon Mindham, Seth Laxton, Dakota Kauffman, and Chase Kull in the 4x400-meter relay; and the 4x800-meter relay team of Jordan Molzof, Seth Laxton, Jack Latham, and Chase Kull.

Wyatt Roth earned a third place finish in the shot put.

Fourth place finishes went to Jordan Molzoff in the 800-meter run; and the 4x200-meter relay team of Chase Kull, Seth Laxton, Tommy Monroe, and Brandon Mindham.

Other finishes of note included Cole Couey in eighth place in the 400-meter dash; Jack Latham in 10th place in the 800-meter run; Noah Toye in ninth place in the 3,200-meter run; Gavin Bell in sixth place in the 110-meter hurdles; the 4x100 team of Hali Cook, Hunter Drake, Tommy Monroe, and Cauy Isaacson placed seventh; and Wyatt Roth in sixth for the discus throw.

Girls’ track and field

Sydney Haines took the first place slot in the pole vault.

Mackenzie Kauffman provided a second place finish in the 3,200-meter run. Kauffman also earned a second as part of the team with Molly Pegram, Faith Glasbrenner, and Rachel Davis in the 4x800-meter relay.

Additional event finishes include Casey Ostheimer in eighth place in the 400-meter dash; Faith Glasbrenner in sixth place with the 800-meter dash followed by Abbey Manning in seventh; Rachel Davis in seventh for the 1,600-meter run; Molly Pegram took seventh in the 3,200-meter run, followed by Rachel Davis in eighth; a sixth place finish in the 4x400-meter relay by the team of Casey Ostheimer, Erin Beck, Leah Bloedow, and Faith Glasbrenner; Leah Bloedow placed seventh in the triple jump; and Grace Roth earned ninth in the shot put.
