Lady Bulldogs suffer close loss to Panthers

The Lady Bulldogs showed improvement in their game against Iowa-Grant on Friday night, Dec. 4, narrowing the margin of defeat to five points, 59-54, in a quick moving game with the teams staying well apace of each other.

The Bulldogs were ahead by three at the end of the first quarter, 22-19, but Panthers were able to gain traction in the second quarter to outscore Boscobel and end the half with a two-point lead, 26-24.

That pattern repeated in the second half, with the Lady Bulldogs outscoring Iowa-Grant in the third quarter to take the lead 45-42. The Panthers rallied to pull back ahead and end the game 59-54.

Leading in scoring was Lea Wacker with 17 points, followed by Danielle Ernst with 13, Alyssa Davis with eight, Sydney Williams with 7, Miranda Beinborn with five, and Katelyn Wiegel and Mackenzie Fischer with two points each.

Four of Davis’s points were from the free throw line out of a total of eight attempts. Williams was 3-5 at the free throw line, Fischer 2-4, Ernst, 1-4, and Beinborn, 1-2.
