Iowa–Grant/Highland junior Donald Laufenberg battles Lancaster's Caden Straka in the 220-pound championship match at Saturday's Lancaster Invitational. Straka prevailed with a 15–9 victory, but Laufenberg's second-place finish helped his Panthers finish second in the final team standings at the 12-team tournament.

LANCASTER — Senior Jason Sedbrook notched four wins to claim the 152-pound title, while sophomore Mason Welsh was perfect in his return to the mat to win the 106 crown at Saturday’s Lancaster Invitational.

The duo, along with second-place finishes from sophomore Cal Dorota (170) and junior Donald Laufenberg (220) led the Iowa–Grant/Highland co-op to a second-place finish at the 12-team tournament.

The Panthers scored 209 team points to finish just 11 back of the host and champion Flying Arrows (220). Monticello (172) finished third, followed by Sparta (160) and MFL Mar Mac (133.5).

“Placing second was great for the team,” said Iowa–Grant/Highland head coach. “However, we did have plenty of opportunities to win it and we just couldn’t get it done.
