Junior Luke Nowak (24) follows the block of Kyle Soderstrom (69) during Friday nights 5615 blowout of visiting Mineral Point. Nowak followed up last weeks 238-yard performance with an even better night rushing for a new career-high 307 yards and four touchdowns.

MIFFLIN— For the second week in a row Iowa–Grant blasted a SWAL rival with a punishing ground game and stiff defense.

For the second week in a row junior halfback Luke Nowak established a new career-high in rushing yards and continued to cement his status as one of the premier running backs in the Southwestern Wisconsin Activities League.

Nowak rushed for 307 of the Panthers’ 506 total yards and scored four touchdowns as Iowa–Grant flexed its muscle with a dominating 56–15 victory over host Mineral Point.

Behind an offensive line anchored by all-conference seniors Colin Conner and Reed Caygill, Iowa–Grant was able to move the ball at will.

Nowak scored on first-quarter runs of 17, 53 and 71 yards as the Panthers jumped out to a 27–7 lead. He added a 20-yard touchdown run at the 8:45 mark of the second quarter to make it 34–7.

Nowak has rushed for a conference-leading 923 yards and nine TDs on 129 carries through six games.

Senior fullback Cody Rider got in on the scoring with a 4-yard TD run early in the first quarter to make it 12–0. He added a pair of 5-yard touchdown runs, one with 3:12 left in the first half, the other early in the third quarter. He finished the night with 107 yards and three TDs on 17 carries.

Trent Milliken caught a 10-yard touchdown pass from sophomore Isaac Anderson in the second quarter.

Iowa–Grant (5–1, 3–1 SWAL) outgained the Pointers (3–3, 2–2) 506–333, and held an impressive 437–14 advantage in rushing yards.

The I–G defense allowed 319 passing yards on 23 of 44 attempts, but limited the Pointers to just 14 yards rushing on 19 carries.

The Panthers will travel to Southwestern (1–5, 0–4) this Friday.
