SW/CC cross country runners compete at Darlington Invite

Cuba City's Taylor Sullivan (far left) was the Southwestern/Cuba City top finisher for the boys team placing 20th.

DARLINGTON - Competing in last Saturday's Darlington Invite, the Southwestern-Cuba City boys' cross country team placed ninth of 13 teams, while the girls finished 12th of 14.

On the boys' side, coach Josh Klockow's squad finished with a team score of 228, while the host Redbirds had the top score of 41.

Taylor Sullivan was Southwestern-Cuba City's top runner, placing 20th with a time of 18:23. He was followed by Bailey Fellenzer (19:47), Kyle Collins (19:54), Homer (20:22) and Michael Richard (21:04).

On the girls' side, coach Paul Reynold's squad managed 289 points, well behind the first-place team of Dodgeville-Mineral Point, who scored 39.

Haley Kammerude was the team's top finisher with a time of 17:54 to finish 27th.
Jessica Donar (19:34) was the next best finisher for the Wildcats, followed by Allison Timmerman (20:24), Tazelynn LoSoya (21:15), Katie Wilberding (21:58) and Sadie Oglesby (25:36).
