BOSCOBEL - Three Boscobel wrestlers hit the mat at last Saturdays Division 3 regional meet hosted by Riverdale.

Preston Baker (182) placed third in his class. He prevailed in the quarterfinals over Terry Hrubes of Riverdale, winning by fall in :45. The win was described as an upset by Coach Bobby Harry. He fell in his second match to Louis Heberlein of Fennimore, a top seeded wrestler, in 3:42. Baker then won by fall in 1:57 over Sawyer Wallace, Mineral Point. He took a repeat loss to Heberlein in his final match by rule.

Dakota Frazier took fourth place in the 126-pound weight class. He fell to Riverdale’s Brian Mathews in 2:59. Frazier won his first match over Clay McCartney of Lancaster before losing to Alston Nutter of Fennimore, last year’s state champion, by fall in 4:27 during his second match.

Chase Beinborn (145) fell to Riverdale’s Caleb Johnson in the semifinals. He lost by decision, 5-3. Beinborn took River Ridge/Cassville’s Zane Trautsch in his first match by decision, 17-1. He then lost his third match to Hunter Wardell of Fennimore by major decision. That match was lost in the final seconds with a call the coach described “sort of  questionable,” in that it was difficult to make.
