LANCASTER – In a battle for the Southwest Wisconsin Conference dual meet wrestling title, the visiting Blackhawks of Prairie du Chien gained the upper hand last Thursday night with a 34-27 victory over the host Flying Arrows of Lancaster.

For coach Brad Sturmer’s squad, it was their first conference dual meet of the season, and will next take on Belmont/Platteville on Thursday, Jan. 9, following the Bi-State Classic and the Lancaster Invite.

Thursday night’s dual meet started off at 113 pounds, where Lancaster junior Remi Bontreger had his hands full with Rhett Koenig, but pulled out an 8-7 decision.
