Belmont/Platteville crowns three champs at Monroe

MONORE — Belmont/Platteville seniors Will Schaefer and Tristen Gilbertson turned in repeat championship performances, while Braves’ sophomore John Burbach walked away a first-time champion as the Braves had a big day at the 2019 Monroe Wrestling Invitational held at Monroe High School on Saturday, Jan. 25.

The Braves also competed in a pair of dual meets last week, falling 39–36 in a non-conference match against Ithaca/Weston on Tuesday, Jan. 21, and then dropping a 53–15 Southwest Wisconsin Conference dual against league-leading Prairie du Chien on Thursday, Jan. 23.
