Platteville swept Potosi, 25–8, 25–18, Madison La Follette, 25–11, 25–8, and host Edgewood, 25–22, 25–18 to win its pool, then swept La Crosse Central to advance to the championship match.
In the finals, junior Morgan Stecklein led a balanced attack with seven kills as Platteville (32–5) swept Waunakee 25–21, 25–16 for the title.
Stecklein finished the tournament with a team-high 32 kills and 14 digs. Fellow junior Maddie Carroll had 21 kills, Allison Woodworth added 15 kills and 16 blocks, while Faye Bailie had 11 kills and a team-best 24 blocks.
Last Tuesday, Platteville improved to 6–1 in the SWC with a 3–0 victory over visiting Dodgeville.
The Hillmen traveled to last-place Lancaster (1–6 SWC) Tuesday and will next host first-place River Valley (25–1, 7–0) Thursday night.
