Horents' Coleman scores triple win

Caleb Coleman won three events in the Hornets' triangular with Platteville and Lancaster.

Richland Center sophomore Caleb Coleman became a triple winner, but Platteville dominated the SWC triangular meet here Tuesday.

Platteville won the boys division with 108 points while Lancaster had 44 and Richland Center 29. The Hillmen girls totaled 93 points while Lancaster had 51 and Richland Center 37. 

Coleman won the 200, 400 and long jump. He took the 400 in 54.77, the 200 in 23.78 and the long jump at 17-11. Yevhiniy Mizin accounted for the Hornet boys’ only other win in the 800 with a personal best of 1:59. 4.

Platteville won 12 of the 18 boys events. 

The Hornets ran second in the 4x400. Raphael Hipp was third in the 200 and Casey Driscoll third in the 3200. Evan Thomas was fourth in the 800 and Sam Hart fourth in the shot put.

Platteville girls took eight events. Hornets won five events. 

Stella Elmentaler won the 3200 in 12:57. Madison Rizner won the 100 in 13.9. Bethany Doudna ran 2:56.30 to win the 800. Anna Laue flew 15-1 to win the long jump, and McKenna Nigl took the triple jump at 31-11 3/4. 

The Hornets ran scond in the 4x200. Rizner was third in the high jump with a personal best 5-0. 

Nigl was fourth in the 300 low hurdles. Mikayla Parish finished fourth in the 800. Doudna finished fourth in the pole vault. 

 

The Hornets will run in the River Valley Inv. Friday and the Riverdale Inv. Saturday. They are slated to host Dodge-Point in a dual meet Tuesday.
