Platteville/Lancaster swimmers finish third at own invite

Senior Jackson Serkies helped the Platteville/Lancaster boys swim team (4–5, 3–4 SLC) pick up a pair of Southern Lakes Conference dual meet victories last Tuesday at Lake Geneva.
PLATTEVILLE — The Platteville/Lancaster boys swim team continued its steady improvement over the weekend with a third-place finish at its own Hillmen Invitational.

The quartet of junior Dylan Prestegard, senior Luke Sigwarth, junior Noah Rhoden and sophomore Bryce Wunderlin set the tone with a victory in the opening event, the 200-yard medley relay with a winning time of 1:50.70. 

Wunderlin also placed fifth in the 100 individual medley, fifth in the 500 freestyle (6:01.63) and was on Platteville/Lancaster’s fourth-place 200 freestyle relay (1:41.52) with Rhoden, Prestegard and junior Quentin Fritz. 

Last Tuesday, Coach Matt Wunderlin’s Hillmen picked up a pair of Southern Lakes Conference dual meet victories at last Tuesday’s SLC quadrangular at Lake Geneva Badger High School. The Hillmen (4–5, 3–4) dropped a 133–37 decision to the host Badgers, but defeated Delavan–Darien 126–39 and Prairie/Racine St. Catherine’s 123–35.
